The
project MERLIN (Monitoring and Evaluation of Research in Learning
INnovations) looks at establishing a framework for a European-wide
discussion on the research done in learning mediated by ICT. By disseminating
MERLIN outcomes, the researches and practitioners together with the
Commission and other interested parties, will create synergies for
promoting a wider knowledge-base in this area. The project will
allow to access a pool of contrasted scientific results on different
technology-based learning innovations in Europe, and will shed light
on the social implications of ICT-based learning innovations in the educational
systems and on the better understanding of the emergent knowledge society. MERLIN
will allow to identify trends, strengths and weaknesses in research
done in the area of ICT-based learning innovations, while
contributing to identify socio-economic issues and needs for future
research.
MERLIN
started in January 2001 and will last until June 2002
